Fiberglass Fabrics and Films Fiberglass Cloth, Tape, Mat, and Mylar Laminating Film for Reinforced Plastic Laminating Applications Fiberglass fabrics come in a variety of widths, thicknesses and weaves; each serving one or more specific applications. Each fiberglass cloth is listed in one weight, one weave, and one width; multiple layers and combinations can create any and every basic reinforced fiberglass laminating technique. Fiberglass Cloth Fiberglass Cloth is a general purpose, Volan finished fabric with good wet-out properties for easy hand lay-up work. The not-too-tightly woven square pattern gives it pliability to conform readily to both simple and compound curves. To impregnate one square foot of Fiberglass Cloth requires 1 to 2 oz. of liquid resin, or an average of 1 to 1.5 lbs per square yard. he type of application will dictate the exact amount of resin needed. Fiberglass Tape Fiberglass tape is Selvedge edge and Volan treated for hand lay-up laminating. The tape is easy to use for repairing pipes, ducts, boat seams, corners or other hard to get to places. Approximately 2 oz. of resin is used to impregnate 1 linear yard of tape, 3 inches wide. For larger areas, cut 38 inch Fiberglass Fabric to the required size. Pricing (Does not Include Shipping)
Fiberglass Laminating Mat Fiberglass Laminating Mat is a general purpose 1 oz., 38" wide binder-treated glass mat formulated for hand lay-up applications. To impregnate 1 square foot requires 5 oz. of resin or about 3 lbs. per square yard; double for two layers and so on. Pricing (Does not Include Shipping)
Fiberglass Finishing Mat Fiberglass Finishing Mat, as the name implies, is often used to cover the course fibers of our General Purpose Laminating Mat (6FM-1). It does not have a great deal of strength by itself, but formulates an excellent finish. It is often used for decorate items where strength is not important. Estimate about 1 lb. of resin per square yard and for each additional layer of mat. Pricing (Does not Include Shipping)
Mylar Laminating Film Fiberglass Laminates are usually formed between two sheets of light (1 Mil) Laminating Film as illustrated in the Castoliter Bulliten featuring various laminating methods. For table and countertops, trays and tiles, use the Heavy (5 Mil) Film for a high luster finish. Pricing (Does not Include Shipping)
